After fighting off an ankle injury for much of the week, Matt Williams finally got some action in a Miami Heat uniform in the Orlando Summer League, dropping a team-high 14 points in his team’s loss to New York.

Williams played 29 minutes and shot 5/16 from the field, including 4/13 from beyond the arc. Despite the rustiness, Williams looked like he was well in rhythm from long range in the third quarter:

Though his percentage wasn’t where he’d want it, his quick release, to go with his rebounding, still make him an intriguing free agent prospect with a modern NBA three-and-D game.

Against Detroit earlier in the week, Williams hit his first basket as a pro: a buzzer-beater to end the third quarter:

In two games in Orlando, Williams averaged 8.5 points per game on 6/23 shooting, to go with 5.5 rebounds per game. But his summer isn’t over: Williams and the Heat will get some more run next week as they travel out west for the Las Vegas Summer League.
