UCF linebacker Shaquem Griffin’s incredible season and story continues to make national headlines as Griffin appeared on ESPN Radio’s Dan LeBatard Show on Wednesday to discuss growing up and playing football with the use of one hand.

Griffin goes into great detail about the pain he suffered as a child in his hand, which eventually led to the decision to amputate the hand. He also discusses the moment when he learned he had won the American Athletic Conference Defensive Player of the Year Award.

Here’s the video of the interview from LeBatard’s show:

Earlier this season, Shaquem and his brother Shaquille were featured on ESPN’s College Gameday.

Shaquem also was the subject of a nice write-up on Deadspin.
