UCF-Michigan Scores Huge Local TV Ratings

UCF’s loss to Michigan on Saturday scored big TV ratings, as it was watched by¬†2,863,000 million viewers on ABC, according to ESPN Public Relations. The Knights-Wolverines game was the third-most watched College Football game of the weekend behind only the Virginia Tech-Tennessee game (5.8 million viewers) and Tulsa at Ohio State (4.0 million), according to SportsMediaWatch.com.

If you include streaming online, The Knights-Wolverines was watched by approximately 2,918,000 viewers according to ESPN Public Relations.

Orlando was the fifth-highest rated market for the UCF-Michigan game, drawing an a 4.4 rating within in the Orlando-Daytona Beach-Melbourne DMA, making it the most-watched UCF regular season game in Orlando since November 9th, 2013, when the Knights, ranked 19th in the country at the time, defeated Houston 19-14 in an AAC showdown at Bright House Networks Stadium. That game was televised on ESPN2, and did a 4.8 rating in Orlando.

The most watched UCF regular season football game in Orlando was also in 2013, when UCF lost 28-25 to Steve Spurrier’s 12th-ranked South Carolina Gamecocks at Bright House Networks. That game was also televised on ABC with a noon kick-off. That was the first time UCF ever played on ABC. The game registered a 11.5 rating in Orlando.

The most-watched sporting events of last week, according to Hal Boedeker of Orlando Sentinel, was the New England Patriots-Arizona Cardinals Sunday Night NFL game on NBC, with the Florida State-Ole Miss game on Labor Day Night coming in a close second.
