UCF Men's Soccer Shocks #22 UConn in Storrs

Red-Hot Knights Unbeaten in Last Four Matches

Just a few hours after UCF Football's biggest win of its season at Navy, UCF Men's Soccer picked up its biggest win of the 2017 season on Saturday, knocking off #22/25 UConn on the road in Storrs, Connecticut.

UConn came into the match ranked #22 in Soccer America and #25 in Top Drawer Soccer. They're receiving votes in the United Soccer Coaches' Poll, and #34 in the National RPI. UConn is now tied atop the league with SMU.

Cal Jennings scores a pair of goals, including the game-winner in the 72nd minute on a spectacular header. Matias Pyysalo also chimed in with his team-leading 9th goal of the year.

The last time UCF Men's Soccer defeated a ranked team on the road, it was just over five years ago, in 2012 at SMU.

Where the Knights are Right Now

After a 1-5-1 start, the Knights are unbeaten in their last four matches, and in fifth place in the American, two points behind Temple for 4th place and a berth in the conference tournament.

They have one last non-conference match against FAU at home this Tuesday before their final two critical matches in conference: home for 4th-place Temple Saturday October 28th, and at last-place Cincinnati a week later on November 4th.

Two more wins could put UCF in the conference tournament as the hottest team coming in.
