Former UCF Basketball star Matt Williams just wrapped up his stint in the 2018 NBA Las Vegas Summer League with the Chicago Bulls.
Williams, who was with the Miami Heat organization last year, played in all five games for Chicago in Vegas, averaging 5.0 points, 0.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game.
His per-game line:
Date | Opp. | MIN | PTS | REB | AST | STL | BLK | FG | 3FG | FT |
7/7 | Cleveland | 14 | 0 | 3 | 1 | 0 | 0 | 0/5 | 0/4 | - |
7/8 | L.A. Lakers | 15 | 12 | 2 | 0 | 0 | 1 | 4/8 | 4/7 | - |
7/10 | Atlanta | 13 | 7 | 2 | 2 | 0 | 1 | 3/6 | 1/3 | 0/2 |
7/11 | Dallas | 14 | 3 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1 | 1/6 | 1/4 | - |
7/14 | Detroit | 15 | 3 | 0 | 0 | 2 | 0 | 1/4 | 1/3 | - |
Although he shot 9/29 for the week from the field overall, his best performance was on July 8th against the Los Angeles Lakers, where he dropped 12 points on 4/8 shooting, with all but one of those attempts from beyond the arc.
Highlights are below:
Last year, Williams appeared in three games for the Heat around Christmas. His best action came with the Sioux Falls SkyForce, the Heat's G-League affiliate, where he averaged 10.2 points and 2.7 rebounds per game in 43 appearances and posted a 38.9% clip from beyond the arc.
There's no word yet on whether Williams will stay with the Bulls come camp.
