UCF Volleyball split its two matches in the Sunshine State Classic in Coral Gables.
In the first match, UCF made short work of FAU, sweeping the Owls and hitting a whopping .368 on the day.
McKenna Melville led the Knights with 16 kills. Her performance, as well as that of her fellow freshmen, was the story for Coach Dagenais:
Quite certain it was the first time in my career I handed in a starting lineup with 5 freshman. Nice @UCF_Volleyball win vs FAU. They will do some great things in CUSA. Now we focus on a weekend CHAMPIONSHIP against a P6 opponent. @UCFKnights— Todd Dagenais (@ucfvbtodd) August 25, 2018
Miami put the end to the Knights' run to open the season, sweeping UCF in the nightcap.
