The announcement comes less than 24 hours after UCF agreed to an extension with WBB head coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson.
Now, both basketball head coaches are signed on through 2024-2025.
Dawkins’ extension is for one year after he signed a similar extension last July.
Dawkins has a 67-34 record over his first three seasons at UCF and is second in program history behind the legendary Torchy Clark in winning percentage.
Earlier this offseason, Dawkins was linked to the Vanderbilt head coach opening, but Vandy opted for NBA veteran Jerry Stackhouse.
He’ll have a tough task ahead next season with only three players returning who recorded any significant playing time last season.
