Junior anchor leg Loren Gallmon helped lock up the UCF Knights’ spot in the NCAA Championships in Austin for the sixth time in the last eight years by clinching an automatic berth by finishing third in at the NCAA East Prelimanaries in Jacksonville, Florida on May 25th.

Shaniya Williams jumped out to a strong lead before handing the baton off to Ciara Holback for the second leg. Holback kept the Knights on pace before passing the baton to Beyonce Defreitas who would than hand off to Gallmon, who joined the team that week, but now helped UCF make it to NCAA semifinals in the 4x100 relay.

UCF would end up finishing eighth overall with a season-best time of 43.72 to advance to Austin, becoming the fifth 4x100 UCF relay team in the last seven seasons to advance to the NCAA Championships.

UCF would end up finishing 14th at NCAA Championships, running a 43.82. Williams, Holback, Defreitas and Gallmon earned Second Team All-America honors as a result of the finish.
