Top 25 UCF Games of 2018-2019: #13 - Men’s Soccer Clinches Regular Season Title

Knights make history on Senior Knight

Derek Warden

The last time the UCF Knights’ Men’s Soccer program won a regular season championship was in 2004, when UCF was a member of the A-Sun. That would change on November 2, as UCF would clinch The American’s regular season championship with a win over Cincinnati.

The Knights came in ranked #9 in the country but would have to wait to hit the pitch as weather caused a one hour delay on a night where they would honor their 10 seniors.

The game was scoreless until the 84th minute, when Louis Perez hit the strike that would be remembered.

That goal gave UCF all they would need.

The win also meant that UCF would host the American Championship Tournament the following week for the first time. But Senior Night 2018 is a night no one will ever soon forget, as it was a historical moment for the program and for the ten seniors.
