It is the third time this season UCF has been on ABC, with the season opener at Georgia Tech airing in same exact slot. The Knights’ win at East Carolina aired at Noon.
It will be the 11th time in program history the Knights will be on ABC. UCF is 7-3 all-time in games that have aired on ABC. This will be the 4th time UCF and Memphis will air on ABC, as both teams played in The American Conference Championship Game in 2017 and 2018 which both aired on ABC, and the regular season matchup at Memphis in 2018 also aired on ABC. 3:30 pm was also the time slot for UCF-Memphis in the 2018 regular season and AAC title games.
You can check out all UCF TV viewership numbers on ABC and all channels UCF has been on right here.
The main head-to-head competition facing the Knights-Tigers game is LSU-Florida, which will air on ESPN, and potentially either a Game 6 of the National League Championship Series on FOX or a Game 7 of the American League Championship Series on TBS.
You should not be surprised that UCF is back on ABC, as I predicted in last week’s article. I will always wonder what if the Knights had beaten Tulsa. Would the game have ended up airing on primetime with Chris Fowler and Kirk Herbstreit calling the game? Instead, ABC will be airing Oklahoma State at Baylor instead at 7:30pm.
