Blake Bortles to Sign With the Broncos Following Lock Injury

Blake Bortles has agreed to a one-year deal with the Denver Broncos pending passage of the COVID-19 protocol, per a source telling ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

He spent last year as Jared Goff's backup with the Los Angeles Rams, ultimately taking 11 snaps over 3 games. He lapsed to free agency in the offseason, though the Broncos considered signing him as Drew Lock's backup before opting for Jeff Driskel.

Bortles will come on as Driskel's backup. Interestingly enough, Driskel was Bortles' rival in the preps. Blake went to Oviedo High School, while Jeff went to Hagerty. being one year behind.
