In what could be the final War on I-4 football game at the Bounce House, the UCF Knights’ 17-13 win over South Florida on Black Friday was watched by some 711,000 viewers on ESPN, according to ShowBuzzDaily.com .
The game’s viewership is up from last year’s edition on the same network and time slot, when UCF’s 58-46 win in Tampa drew 529,000 viewers. But that was the least-viewed UCF-USF game since the 2015 Thanksgiving night game.
The Knights-Bulls 2021 edition is still significantly down from the 2019 edition, which drew 1.78 million viewers on ESPN.
Overall it was the 4th-least viewed War on I-4 football game since the series resumed in 2013 with both schools becoming members of the American Athletic Conference.
The Thanksgiving night game of 2015 is the least watched USF-UCF game on any date (388k), while 2014 edition is the least watched Black Friday game (488K). That game aired at noon on ESPN2.
Last year’s game was the least-watched Black Friday game that aired on ESPN.
