The latest NFL news for all UCF alumni this offseason.

NFL: Seattle Seahawks at Washington Football Team Geoff Burke-USA TODAY Sports

January 18th: Jordan Franks signs with the Cleveland Browns.

Franks played for the Knights from 2014-2017. He played linebacker his freshman year and defensive back/wide receiver his sophomore year before becoming a tight end his junior and senior season. He totaled 43 receptions for 509 yards with 2 touchdowns as a Knight. After going undrafted in 2018, he caught 2 passes for 37 yards for the Bengals in his rookie season. He signed a 2 year, $1,675,000 deal with the Browns.

January 22nd: Matt Wright signs with the Detroit Lions.

Matty Ice is UCF’s all-time leading scorer (with 375 points) and played for the Knights from 2014-2018. In 2020, he was 4-4 on field goals and 7-7 on extra points for the Pittsburgh Steelers. His season long was 46 yards. He signed a 1 year, $780,000 deal with the Lions.

March 15th: Justin McCray signs with the Houston Texans.

Justin and his twin brother Jordan played for UCF from 2010-2013. Justin played 45 games for UCF over his career and was First Team All-AAC his senior season. He’s played in 50 NFL games throughout stops with the Packers, Browns, and Falcons. He signed a 2 year, $4,000,000 deal with the Texans.

March 16th: Shaquill Griffin signs with the Jacksonville Jaguars.

After playing for UCF from 2013-2016, Griffin was selected 90th overall by the Seahawks in the 2017 NFL Draft. Shaquill had 7 interceptions and 36 pass deflections as a Knight and was Second Team All-AAC his senior season. In four seasons with the Seahawks, Griffin has totaled 6 interceptions, 48 pass deflections, and 244 total tackles. He signed a 3 year, $40,000,000 deal with the Jaguars.

March 17th: Adrian Killins signs with the Philadelphia Eagles.

Killins, one of the most electric offensive players in UCF history, played for the Knights from 2016-2019. As a Knight, he totaled 406 rushing attempts for 2,459 yards with 34 total touchdowns. He appeared in week 4 for the Eagles last season, logging one rush attempt. He signed a 2 year, $1,510,200 deal with the Eagles.

March 17th: Matt Prater signs with the Arizona Cardinals.

Prater was undrafted in 2006 after making 50 field goals for UCF over four seasons. He’s had quite a successful 15-year NFL career, making 321 of 386 field goal attempts (83.2%). He was a 2013 & 2016 Pro Bowl nominee. He signed a 2 year, $6,500,000 deal with the Cardinals.

March 18th: Breshad Perriman signs with the Detroit Lions.

The 2015 26th overall pick only played three seasons at UCF before declaring early for the NFL Draft. In those three seasons, Perriman caught 115 passes for 2,243 yards with 16 touchdowns and was named to the All-AAC First Team his junior season. Through six seasons in the NFL, Perriman has totaled 125 receptions for 2,066 yards with 14 touchdowns. He signed a 1 year, $2,500,000 deal with the Lions.

April 7th: A.J. Bouye signs with the Carolina Panthers.

The former UCF Knight and 2017 pro-bowler signed a 2 year, $7,000,000 with the Panthers after being released by the Broncos.

April 30th: Richie Grant drafted by the Atlanta Falcons.

Grant, a UCF fan favorite, became one of the most sought after safeties in the 2021 draft class. He ended up being the second safety drafted, even before Trevon Moehrig who was drafted 3 picks later.

April 30th: Aaron Robinson drafted by the New York Giants.

Robinson was regarded as one of the best nickel corners in the 2021 draft and that led to him getting drafted in the 3rd round by the New York football Giants. A 4.38 40 time at UCF’s pro day definitely helped his cause as well.

May 1st: Jacob Harris drafted by the Los Angeles Rams.

Jacob Harris went from walk-on practice squad player to a major playmaker on scholarship by the end of his UCF career. A monster pro day made his draft stock skyrocket which led him to getting drafted in the 4th round by the Rams. He finished his UCF career with 49 receptions, 987 yards, 9 touchdowns, and 20.1 yards per catch.

May 1st: Tay Gowan drafted by the Arizona Cardinals.

Gowan dropped much later than expected in the 2021 NFL Draft, getting picked up by the Cardinals in the 7th round. In his one season at UCF (2019), Gowan totaled 31 tackles, 8 deflections, and 2 interceptions. He opted out of the 2020 season.

May 1st: Tre Nixon drafted by the New England Patriots.

Nixon signed a 4 year, $3,578,678 deal with the Patriots after they selected him in the 7th round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Nixon only played in 4 games his senior season due to a shoulder injury but he ended his career with 1,652 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns as a Knight. He spent is freshman season at Ole Miss before transferring.

May 1st: Marlon Williams signs with the Houston Texans.

Marlon signed a 3 year, $2,425,000 contract with the Houston Texans after going undrafted in the 2021 NFL Draft. He had 1,039 receiving yards with 10 touchdowns in 9 games during his senior season at UCF.

May 5th: Nate Evans claimed off waivers by the Seattle Seahawks.

Evans played linebacker at UCF from 2016-2019 where he amassed 235 tackles, 3.5 sacks and 23 tackles for a loss throughout his career. He was named to the 2018 All-AAC First Team and the 2019 All-AAC Second Team. The Louisiana native went undrafted in 2020.

May 12th: Blake Bortles signs one-year deal with Packers

Bortles split time in 2020 with the Broncos and Rams. Now, he heads to Green Bay to add depth to a QB room that has Jordan Love and (possibly) Aaron Rodgers.
