Do not sleep on Tay Gowan, our next UCF Knights draft profile, who could become a big contributor depending on where he goes.

Tay Gowan - CB

  • HEIGHT: 6’ 0.4”
  • WEIGHT: 186 pounds
  • 40 YD DASH: 4.44 seconds
  • BENCH PRESS: 13 reps
  • WINGSPAN: 75 1/4”
  • VERTICAL JUMP: 35.5”
  • BROAD JUMP: 9’ 10”
  • 3 CONE DRILL: 6.86 seconds
  • 20 YD SHUTTLE: 4.27 seconds
  • 2019 STATS: 31 total tackles, 8 pass deflections, 2 interceptions (12 games)

Tay Gowan could be yet another UCF prospect to hear his name called from the secondary. After transferring in from Miami (OH), he made his debut as a Knight in 2019 opposite Nevelle Clarke and made a huge impact as teams threw at him in order to avoid Clarke.

That ended up being a mistake as he racked up 8 passes defenses and two interceptions.

He was expected to have another big year in 2020, but opted out due to the COVID-19 pandemic to protect his newborn child.

Tay’s ball skills are on full display in the film. He is aggressive and has great vision. He does get a tad handsy though, which could present a problem with NFL officiating. He’s fast and sizeable, and has plenty of speed to break on the ball.

NFL.com has him rated as a seventh-round choice, but don’t be surprised if he goes earlier than that.

Draft Projection: Late Day 3
