Gordon transferred from Florida following his freshman year and made four starts in 2020 before COVID shortened the season.
This year, Gordon was the Friday night starter and went 5-2 with a 2.77 ERA in nine appearances before his season was cut short after suffering an elbow injury.
Gordon’s 72 strikeouts led the Knights this season, even though he only played a fraction of the year.
Gordon underwent Tommy John surgery and likely won’t be playing again until the middle of 2022 at the earliest.
Despite the injury, the Astros were willing to take a chance on the UCF Knight.
Gordon was also a member of the AAC All-Academic Team and the AAC All-Conference Second Team this past season.
Charge On, Colton Gordon!
