The UCF Knights’ loss to Tulane in the American Athletic Conference Championship on Saturday was watched by 2.695 million viewers on ABC, according to ShowBuzzDaily.com.
It is the most-watched UCF football telecast since the 2021 Gasparilla Bowl against Florida (3.2 million), and the most-watched non-bowl game since the 2020 season opener at Georgia Tech (3.0 million).
The AAC Championship viewership was down compared to last year’s Cincinnati-Houston matchup (3.4 million).
The game drew a 3.5 rating in the Orlando market, which was the 2nd-best local market for the game behind New Orleans, which posted a 9.7 local rating.
This year’s game is also down from the Knights’ win over Memphis in the 2018 American Championship Game, which was watched by 3.321 million viewers.
The game was also down from the 2017 American Championship, which drew 3.385 million viewers. That game kicked off at noon on ABC.
