Tre’Quan Smith looked good in black & gold on Saturdays during his UCF career, and he looks good in black & gold on Sundays too.
Smith hauled in ten receptions for 157 yards and a touchdown in the Saints’ 48-7 thumping over the Eagles. Smith was targeted 13 times, eight more than any other Saint, in the victory.
Here are all of Tre’Quan’s catches:
To put his numbers in perspective, Smith came into Sunday’s contest with 12 catches and 20 targets through the first nine games. He had his 3-catch, 111-yard coming out party against the Redskins on Monday Night Football in Week 5, but this was different. Sunday proved that he was not simply just a flash in the pan. Smith can be a legitimate part of an offense that looks bound for Atlanta in Super Bowl LIII.
After the win, Smith slotted himself into third place in yards and catches in the Saints offense behind Michael Thomas and Alvin Kamara, and he’s tied for second in receiving touchdowns with Kamara. Both players have four TD’s each.
Smith’s new teammate and fellow AlumKnight Brandon Marshall did not make his debut on Sunday as he just signed with the team. However, maybe he’ll find a chance to play on Thanksgiving night when the Saints take on the Falcons.
