If you’re a fan of the UCF Knights, the second week of the NFL season was definitely an interesting one. It was a week where several former Knights made the highlight reel, from incredible comebacks to huge plays, to doing things that made fans’ jaws drop.
It’s fair to say UCF was represented well. Let’s take a look at how these alumni did in Week 2:
WR Brandon Johnson — Denver Broncos
Johnson arguably had the most notable performance of the week. He had two receptions for 66 yards, with both receptions going for touchdowns.
His second touchdown, a 50-yard last-second Hail Mary, was undoubtedly the biggest highlight of the week.

Sadly, his incredible play would be all for naught as the Broncos failed to tie the game with a two-point conversion and lost to the Washington Commanders by the score of 35-33.
WR Gabe Davis — Buffalo Bills
Davis played a major role in the Bills’ 38-10 win over the Las Vegas Raiders, leading the team in receiving yards with 92 yards on six catches and one touchdown.

RB Latavius Murray — Buffalo Bills
Murray was another player who had a major role in the Bills win.
He recorded 22 yards on six carries and scored one touchdown, which was his first touchdown as a Bill.

Fun Fact: With this touchdown, Murray has now scored for six different NFL teams.
S Richie Grant — Atlanta Falcons
Grant played a key role in helping the Falcons comeback from a late 24-12 deficit and earn a 25-24 win over the Green Bay Packers. He recorded four total tackles, three of which were solo tackles, which was the second most on the team.
K Matt Prater — Arizona Cardinals
Prater went two-for-three on field goal attempts, with his long from 44 yards, and two-for-two on extra point attempts. Prater’s Cardinals would fall to the New York Giants 31-28, despite at one point being up 20-0.
