UCF Cheerleading Wins Fourth National Title

Dance Team makes Jazz and Hip Hop Finals once again

The UCF Knights Cheerleading Team won its fourth UCA Division IA coed national championship Sunday at the Wide World of Sports Complex at Disney, outdoing perennial powers Kentucky and Alabama and the upstart and three-time defending champs South Florida.

The Knights hit their routine in both the semifinals and finals, scoring a 97.3 with no deductions, beating Alabama, who also hit their routine, by just half a point.

It’s the fourth national championship for head coach Linda Gooch and the UCF Cheer program, alongside 2003, 2007, and 2020. UCF is also tied with Ohio State for the second-most national championships in the category behind Kentucky, who has won an astonishing 25.
