The announcement comes a few hours after teammate Tre Nixon announced his intentions to declare for the draft.
This does not come as a surprise for McCrae despite having one year of eligibility left.
McCrae ran for 758 yards this season and found the end zone 10 times in as many games.
His most successful season came in 2018 after he took the RB1 role, when he ran for 1182 yards and 10 touchdowns.
According to Sports Reference, McCrae leaves the UCF program third on the all-time rushing list behind Alex Haynes (3356) and Kevin Smith (4679).
McCrae’s departure means that Bentavious Thompson will likely fill his role as RB1 for next season.
Congratulations Greg on declaring for the 2021 NFL Draft!
