It Sounds Like UCF Will be Adding a Game to its 2020 Football Schedule

We don’t know when, where or against whom, but Josh Heupel kind of spilled the beans Thursday

UCF Knights head coach Josh Heupel isn’t one to speak off the cuff. He doesn’t publicly disclose information that should probably remain private. He is very guarded with his word choice, torturously so at times for us scribes who try to get him to open up about certain topics. His defense is impregnable.

That’s why one of Heupel’s answers during his press conference Thursday was such a surprise. Specifically, he was asked if UCF is trying to add games to its current nine-game 2020 schedule.

“Yeah, I think we’ll have more than nine. But I’m going to punt that to [Athletics Director] Danny White.”

You can watch the whole presser here, with the quote above coming at the 11:58 mark:

As Heupel flashes a smile over the Zoom call, a dozen pairs of eyebrows rise in unison.

WHO IS IT? WHERE IS IT? WHEN IS IT? Stay tuned.

As of now, UCF’s nine-game regular season slate is scheduled to begin Sept. 19 at the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets.
