Following weeks of some UCF Knights’ football players lobbying for Jeff Lebby to be named their new head coach, a handful of them took to social media to express their support for the new hire, Gus Malzahn.

The former Auburn head coach finalized his deal with UCF on Monday morning, multiple sources confirmed.

UCF’s newest players had the most to say Monday morning following the announcement.

“Not gonna lie idc who the coach is at this point I’m just ready to get to work,” said Brandon Adams, a DB from UCF’s 2021 recruiting class.

WR Marlon Williams met the news with some skepticism at first, evident in a tweet that said, “what??” preceded by three facepalm emojis that has since been deleted. He then tweeted, “Offense gotta put up similar numbers..wanna see my boys eat.”

Here’s what new signees and current and former UCF players had to say about Malzahn’s hire.
