The UCF Knights have a new defensive coordinator. Addison Williams, who was UCF’s DBs coach the last two years and served as assistant head coach last year, was promoted to DC by head coach Gus Malzahn.

Williams takes over for Travis Williams (no relation), who left to become the defensive coordinator at Arkansas.

Addison Williams followed Malzahn to UCF after serving as an analyst at Auburn in Malzahn’s last season there in 2019. He coached the safeties at Coastal Carolina in 2020 before coming to UCF in 2021.

Williams played his college ball at South Carolina from 2007-2009.

Addison Williams will coach the defense for the Knights when they face Duke in the Military Bowl in Annapolis on December 28th.
