Future UCF Athletics Hall of Famers: Women’s Soccer

UCF has as much tradition in Women’s Soccer as any other sport.

Our Future UCF Knights Hall-of Famers series continues outside Football’s orbit. Today we take a look at Women’s Soccer.

UCF Women’s Soccer is arguably the most successful women’s sport on campus at UCF, and their contributions to the UCF Hall of Fame are many. Here are the players and coaches from UCF Women’s Soccer that have been inducted into UCF Athletics Hall of Fame:

  • Michelle Akers, F - 1998
  • Amy Allmann - 1999
  • Karen Richter - 2000
  • Jim Rudy, Head Coach - 2000
  • Kelly Kochevar - 2008

Here is a list of candidates who should be considered for induction in the future:

Tisha Jewell (2009-2012)

  • 2011 All-American
  • 2010 C-USA Offensive Player of the Year
  • 1st Team All-C-USA (2010-2011)
  • 1st all-time in shots (243), assists (36), and 6th in total points (84)
  • 4 NCAA Tournament appearances
  • 3 C-USA Championships

Courtney Whidden (2006-2009)

  • 6th all-time in goals (33), T-9th in points (77), 2nd in game-winning goals (13)

Becca Thomas (2006-2009)

  • 2009 All-American
  • 2009 C-USA Midfielder of Year Winner
  • 1st team All-C-USA (2008-2009)
  • 6th all-time at UCF in shots (198), T-5th in assists (29), T-5th game-winning goals (10)
  • 3 NCAA Tournament Appearances
  • 2 C-USA Championships

Aline Reis (2008-2011)

  • 2008 All-American
  • 1st Team All-C-USA (2009, 2010)
  • 2nd all-time at UCF in saves (347), 8th in GAA (1.04), 4th in shutouts (27)
  • 4 NCAA Tournament appearances
  • 2 C-USA Championships
  • Participated in 2016 Summer Olympics with Brazilian National Team

Amanda Cromwell (1999-2012)

  • 203-83-26 record - Most wins in UCF Soccer history
  • 2-time Regional Coach of Year (2009, 2012)
  • C-USA Coach of Year (2009)
  • 4 A-Sun Tournament Championships (1999, 2001, 2002, 2003)
  • 4 A-Sun Regular Season Championships (1999, 2001, 2002, 2003)
  • C-USA Tournament Championship (2012)
  • 4 C-USA Regular Season Championships (2005, 2007, 2009, 2010)
  • 11 NCAA Tournament Appearances

Vera Varis (2015-2018)

  • All-American (2017)
  • AAC Goalkeeper of the Year (2017,2018)
  • Top 10 all-time at UCF in saves, GAA, and shutouts.
