According to SportsMediaWatch.com, the UCF Knights’ game at Pittsburgh was watched by an average of 2.55 million viewers on ABC in their 3:30 window.
The Knights-Panthers game aired on ABC for most east coast markets and on ESPN2 on the west coast. That makes numbers a little more complicated, which SportsMediaWatch explained when I ask them about the number.
The number is the average minute audience for ABC in that window, whether you were getting UCF-Pitt or Washington-BYU.

It was the 5th-highest rated game Saturday at 1.7 behind Oklahoma State at Texas (2.2 on ABC Primetime), Auburn at Texas A&M (3.0, CBS 3:30), Michigan at Wisconsin (3.1, Fox noon) and the primetime game between Notre Dame and Georgia, which aired on CBS which was most watched college football game of the season to date (5.4).
UCF was involved in similar situation last year with the game at Memphis on October 13th, where the game also was split on ABC along with Washington-Oregon. That slot drew just under three million viewers.
This Saturday, UCF will host UConn at 7pm on ESPN2 with Roy Philpott, Kelly Stouffer, and Lauren Sisler on the call.
