As of less than 24 hours before the Selection Show, the UCF Knights remain a virtual lock to be invited to the NCAA Tournament as an at-large team.

According to Bracket Matrix, UCF is a solid 8-seed:

Some notes:

  • Joe Lunardi of ESPN has UCF as a 9-seed playing Baylor in the first round in Columbia, South Carolina. Duke would await in the second round.
  • The American is expected to get four bids: Houston (3-seed), Cincinnati (7), UCF (8) and Temple (11)
  • Other 8-seeds include Iowa (Hi Coach Kirk!), Seton Hall (lost in the Big East Championship), and Washington (lost to Oregon in the Pac-12 Championship).
  • Possible opponents: Minnesota, Ole Miss, Syracuse (!) and VCU.

That’s all for Saturday. The waiting ends tomorrow.
