Transfer from Oregon.
Originally from the central Florida area, Walker, a former five-star recruit, transferred from Oregon to UCF this summer to be closer to his family.
As a freshman with Oregon, the 6’8” Walker played in 28 contests, starting seven, and averaging four points per game.
As a sophomore at UCF, Walker should see his role increase at the power forward position and be one of the primary scorers for the Knights.
“That’s probably one of the most athletic guys I’ve played with,” sophomore Darin Green Jr. said. “He can’t do anything but help us.”
Green Jr. and Walker are two of the young stars headlining this year’s basketball team, and Dawkins is thrilled to have him at UCF.
“He has a huge upside,” head coach Johnny Dawkins said. “We’re going to continue to work and continue to keep developing him because we just see that the sky is the limit for how talented that young man is.”
CJ Walker will be able to make his UCF debut Saturday when Oklahoma comes to town.
