Saturday’s UCF men’s basketball season opener against Oklahoma has been postponed due to COVID-19 issues within the Sooners program, UCF confirmed Wednesday.
The Oklahoma men’s basketball program is paused due to positive COVID-19 tests and contact tracing, the university announced Wednesday. The Sooners’ game against UTSA on Wednesday night has also been called off.
The matchup between OU and UCF will be postponed, according to language used by both programs. However, a makeup date has yet to be determined.
The 2020-21 UCF men’s basketball season will now open against Auburn on Monday at 7 p.m.
UCF Athletics said fans who purchased tickets through the university are “encouraged to donate that money to the Keep Charging On Fund or toward the purchase of a future basketball game.”
