This does not mean the sharpshooting freshman will not play for the Knights again, but he is entering his name in the draft to get feedback from scouts as to whether or not he’s NBA-ready.

Green was second on the team last season in scoring, averaging 10.1 points per game in mostly a reserve role for the Knights last season. But he found his way into the starting lineup late in conference play.

Green’s three-point shooting is likely what has scouts impressed with him so far. He shot 41% from deep last season, which would put him in the Top 25 in the NCAA if he shot the ball enough.

While the chances of Green getting drafted are very slim, the decision to declare is likely a result of the uncertainty shadowing the upcoming season on top of the fact that it’s a dream of his to enter the NBA.

Best of luck, Darin!
