UCF-Florida State Game at Orange Bowl Classic Canceled Due to COVID

Knights will not face FSU on Saturday as planned

UPDATE: The Orange Bowl has announced that the UCF-FSU game scheduled for Saturday has officially been canceled.

UCF has announced they are actively searching for a replacement opponent.

The Florida State Seminoles men’s basketball team is reportedly out of the Orange Bowl Classic this weekend due to an outbreak of COVID, and as a result, the UCF Knights and the event’s organizers are scrambling to find a replacement opponent for their scheduled game on Saturday at Sunrise has been cancelled.

DraftKings Nation, our SB Nation sister site, was first to report the news.

This is the second straight season that the Knights and ‘Noles game at the Orange Bowl Classic has been affected by COVID. Last season the game was moved from Sunrise to Tallahassee, where the Knights would win.

Word starting coming out about the game being cancelled in the afternoon on Friday:

Neither UCF nor Florida State have officially announced any cancellation or postponement yet.

One possibility could be Duke, who lost their game with Loyola Maryland on Saturday:
