Each week this year we will be highlighting the three UCF Knights athletes who stood out in different sports other than football. Because we’re also closet hockey fans, we’re calling this our Three Stars.
Let’s begin:
Gianluca Arcangeli - Men’s Soccer
It was a great start for the UCF Men’s Soccer’s redshirt freshman Arcangeli, who scored two of the Knights’ three goals this weekend against national powers #4 Wake Forest and #6 North Carolina on the road.
Arcangeli’s second goal of season came in the second half at UNC to tie the match at 1-1. UCF would end up defeating North Carolina 2-1. Arcangeli would earn American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Week.
He scored 2 of our 3 goals this weekend

Anne-Marie Watson - Volleyball
Watson was named to the Rebel Invitational’s All-Tournament team after helping lead UCF to a 2-1 weekend at Oxford with wins over Iowa State and host Ole Miss.
Watson had a 20-kill, 6-block performance in Sunday’s come-from-behind victory against the Rebels, as the Knights came back from two sets down on the road to pull off the win in five.
Watson was named to American Athletic Conference weekly honor roll for her performance this weekend.
Outstanding contributions from around the conference led these players to a spot on the #AmericanVB Honor Roll.

Cal Jennings - Men’s Soccer
The All-American senior scored what would be the game-winning goal in the second half in Chapel Hill to lead the #15 Knights to their own come-from-behind win over the #6-ranked Tar Heels.
