In a very special edition of the Black & Gold Banneret Podcast, Jeff and Eric go over their series on Future UCF Athletics Hall of Famers. First, Jeff and Eric discuss the selection process. Then Jeff sits down with two former UCF Knights who he and Eric think should be inducted next.

First, former UCF RB Mark Giacone (10:45) talks about his time at UCF and how the program grew from D-II to a I-AA competitor from 1987-1990.

Then former QB Darin Slack (56:45) talks about the D-II days, how Mike Kruczek’s spread offense came to be, how his father Steve helped save UCF Football from financial ruin, how he became one of the nation’s top quarterback coaches over the last three decades, and gives his insight on quarterback play in 2019.

Finally, Jeff and Eric debate their picks for the Hall of Fame (1:48:45) and what they’d like to see changed with its policies, including discussion of whether Gene McDowell should be inducted (and why he hasn’t been yet).
