Washington Huskies Head Softball Coach Heather Tarr appeared recently on the “In The Circle” podcast on FastpitchNews, where Tarr discussed many topics including, new UCF Softball Head Coach Cindy Ball.

Tarr is the winningest coach of any sport in Washington history with a 532-215-1 record over her 14 seasons. She led the Huskies to a national championship in 2009, the program’s first, and has coached 24 All-Americans including Jen Salling (volunteer coach) and Victoria Hayward (Director of Operations), who are part of Ball’s staff at UCF.

Ball played under Tarr at Pacific where Tarr was an assistant coach prior to taking over Washington program in 2005. Ball was an assistant under Tarr at Washington (2011-2012).

Ball comes over after building Boise State softball program into NCAA Tournament team this past season.

“I’m super proud of Cindy Ball and what she been able to do building the Boise State program and then having the confidence enough to move on and build her career at Central Florida,” Tarr said in the interview.

“Cindy Ball probably taught me more about being a pitching coach then she would have ever known.”

Tarr and Ball, Salling, Hayward will all reunite on February 15th at the Puerto Vallarta Tournament in Mexico, when the Knights and Huskies square off at 7 p.m. Eastern.
