UCF Knights head softball coach Cindy Ball-Malone has been selected as an assistant coach for the 2019 U.S. Junior Women’s National Team, which was announced on Monday by USA Softball. Ball-Malone will be part of the the coaching staff throughout 2019, including at the Junior Women’s World Championship in August.

Ball-Malone reunites with Washington head coach Heather Tarr to coach the 2019 Junior Women’s National Team. Ball-Malone worked with Tarr at Washington from 2011-2012 as an assistant coach, working with the pitchers and recruiting. Ball-Malone also played for Tarr at Pacific, where Tarr was an assistant coach prior to taking over at Washington in 2005.

Ball-Malone will join Florida head coach Tim Walton and Georgia associate head coach Tony Baldwin as assistant coaches for the U-19 Women’s National Team.

This will be a remarkable experience working with these young athletes and traveling the world representing the Red, White and Blue.”
UCF Softball will be very involved as Director of operations Victoria Hayward will be playing for Team Canada this summer as they try to qualify for 2020 Summer Olympics. Assstant coach Tiffany Jordan was on Canadian Junior National team staff at 2017 World Jr Championships in Clearwater and will be assistant coach for the 2019 Canadian Junior Women’s National Team competing in the 2019 WBSC Junior Women’s Softball World Championships from Aug. 11-17 in Irvine, California.
