Led once again by a dominating defense and an all-around game from Courtajia Sanders, the UCF Knights picked up their second consecutive Power Six win to start the season, going to Baton Rouge and knocking off the LSU Tigers 58-48 Friday night at the Maravich Arena as this game was part of the American Conference vs SEC challenge.

After trailing 3-0 early in the first quarter, The Knights would outscore the Tigers 22-0 over the next ten minutes, holding LSU without a field goal in the first quarter and only three for the first half, as the Knights built a 30-12 halftime lead and never looked back. UCF held LSU to 12.5% shooting in the first half under 30% for the game.
Sanders dominated the game, scoring a career high 22 points on 9 of 14 shooting from the field along with three rebounds, two assists and two steals in the win. Brittnany Smith added 13 points on 6 of 13 from the floor, while Diamond Battles added 7 points, 10 rebounds, and four assts in the victory.

The Knights now return home where they will host regular NCAA Tournament participant Florida Gulf Coast a week from this Sunday at 2 p.m. on ESPN+
